If you rent out a property in England, having a valid electrical safety certificate is a legal requirement — not optional. What the law requires

Since 1 June 2020, private landlords in England must: – Have the electrical installation in their rental property inspected and tested by a qualified person at least every five years – Obtain an EICR report and retain a copy – Provide a copy of the EICR to existing tenants within 28 days of the inspection – Provide a copy to new tenants before they move in – Provide a copy to prospective tenants within 28 days of a written request – Carry out any remedial work identified within 28 days (or sooner if specified) – Provide written confirmation that the remedial work has been carried out Failure to comply can result in a fine of up to £30,000 issued by the local authority.

What we provide

We carry out the full EICR inspection and testing, produce the report, and email the certificate to you within 48 hours of payment. The report uses the standard coding system (C1, C2, C3, FI) and will clearly indicate a Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory outcome. If remedial work is required to achieve a Satisfactory outcome, we’ll quote for this separately and carry it out promptly so you’re not left managing a non-compliant property.
